The underdog Mustang takes on two heavy hitters from Europe, the Porsche 911 Turbo S and McLaren 720s.

The folks over at That Racing Channel on Youtube released a street racing video along with owner interviews featuring a Ford Mustang SVT GT500, Porsche 911 Turbo S, and McLaren 720S. Through a set of races on the street, you can see the sheer force of these cars as they go head-to-head.

Starting with the GT500, we see a prime example of a purpose-built vehicle made for running the mile. And it's still daily drivable. The previous owner sold this particular example after blowing up the motor. Now, it sits with a new L&M engine.

According to the owner, his GT500 has a proven history with record times at the Texas Mile series on a stock blower. He was able to reach 221.5 MPH on the stock blower. In the quarter mile, low 9s at 151 mph have been the best times achieved so far.

Currently, the GT500 features a 2.5 liter BMP blower with 26-27 pounds of boost. This combination produces an astounding 1200-1300 hp. Along with 28-inch Mickey Thompson pro radial tires, a full cage, and racing harnesses from G-Force pro series, this car is complete for both racing and the street.

In the first set of races, the GT500 takes on the Porsche from a rolling start. The Ford Mustang GT500 showed off its supercar slaying powers by managing to keep up with the Porsche the first time and pulling ahead during the second pass.

Immediately after that, the McLaren stepped up to bat. It convincingly pulled ahead both times.

The McLaren only has a custom downpipe and exhaust on top of its 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8. In stock form, it’s rated at 720 hp with a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds. Now it’s capable of 840 - 908 hp with a Fi exhaust and M Engineering tune.

The Porsche is a 991.1 Turbo S model from 2014 with 842 hp. The owner built the Porsche to be the ultimate all-around daily driver sports car. It’s tuned with a Cobb access port, a boost controller, custom headers, a custom exhaust, and a PDK transmission.

The video’s finale is a battle between the Porsche and the McLaren. Right off the line, the Porsche dominated the McLaren. Next, they switched it up so that the McLaren had the hit and used its advantage to lead ahead of the Porsche by a car and a half-length. But the Porsche caught up quickly and shortened the gap.

These three cars showcase some of the very best car technology and the possibilities attained through passion and dedication to their respected platforms.
