The turbocharged sports car produces an impressive 500-hp, but let's find out if that's enough to beat the 710-hp muscle car on the drag strip.
Drag racing is a fantastic form of motorsport. It is about two fast cars going head-to-head down the 1/4-mile to find out who is the fastest and who can come out on top. Sam CarLegion on YouTube produces some of the best drag racing videos out there, and his latest one features a tuned Toyota Supra GR as it takes on the challenge of the mighty Dodge Challenger Hellcat SRT in an interesting contest.
The Supra certainly looks very different, but let's take a look at its specs. The Supra has a 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine that now makes 500 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission and is rear-wheel drive, weighing in at around 3,400 lbs. Tuning wise it has an ECU Stage 2, Borla Atak Exhaust and Catless downpipes to really spice things up.
The Challenger meanwhile has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine with 710 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque. It has an eight-speed automatic gearbox and is also rear-wheel drive. Roughly, it weighs in at around 4,400 lbs.

Now it is on to the drag racing between the two cars. You might expect the Challenger to win with that extra power. But the tuning upgrades certainly helped the Supra off the line, before the Dodge roared past it in the first race to show what an extra 200 hp or so can do. The two cars line up again for another dig race, and the Supra again gets a mega start and blitzes away from the Challenger. But the big muscle car claws the advantage of the Supra back in as they get to the finish line and only just misses out on the win.

We get another dig race between the two cars, the Supra again getting the launch before the Challenger hauls it in, sneaking the win. In the first rolling race from 32 mph, the muscle car destroys the Supra, that SRT power really coming in handy and there is nothing the Supra can do.
Roll race two is with manual shifting, but it makes no difference as the Challenger once again pulls away. The final roll race is from 62 mph, and again, the Challenger shows what all that extra power can do. The Supra might be nicely tuned, but it is still no match for the big muscle car.
