As previously announced, Google can now provide replacement components and repair kits for a wide range of issues in collaboration with iFixit. These are available for devices ranging from the original Pixel to the Pixel 6 line. However, the precise selection of components and supported phones appears to differ somewhat from one country to the next. The announcement was made yesterday via Twitter on the official @madebygoogle account:

You can place an order for a kit on the internet, and it will come with the appropriate replacement parts and the tools required to install them. Replacement parts include screens, back cameras, batteries, and, in certain cases, the charging assembly. iFixit also provides complete repair guides for all supported fixable faults. Repair kit costs can range from $30 USD for a charging assembly to $200 USD for a Pixel 6 Pro screen replacement.
One significant difference is that iFixit sells the tools you need for Pixel repairs, whereas Apple Self Service Repair requires you to rent them with a hefty deposit. Additionally, Apple sends out a whole set of tools for your repair, regardless of whether or not you need them for your specific issue. In contrast, iFixit will only send the tools that are tailored to your device’s problem.
Another key advantage of Google and iFixit is that their program is accessible in more locations. Apple’s program is currently only available in the U.S., while iFixit can ship you a kit in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, and EU countries where Pixel is available. So hopefully, Google and iFixit’s repair kits won’t be as complex to use as Apple’s offering.
